Wild Church Online Gatherings

These free seasonal gatherings are invitations to honor the turning of the Wheel of the Year and the sacred rhythms of the land. Within this shared circle, participants from across different watersheds come together to listen to the Spirit through guided practice, communal reflection, and direct connection with the wild.

Summer Solstice

The Summer Solstice, known in the Celtic tradition as Alban Hefin ("The Light of the Shore"), is the moment of the sun’s greatest power. It is the longest day of the year—a season of "ripeness" where the blossoms of spring begin to transform into the fruits of summer. Standing at this pinnacle of light, we honor the peak of the year’s growth and the deep, sustaining energy that nourishes every watershed.

You are invited to join this gathering as a space to honor the fruitfulness in the world and in your own life. Through wandering, contemplation, and shared reflection, we will celebrate the abundance of the land and begin the practice of gathering a "talisman bag"—a portable collection of sacred objects to carry the spirit of the wild with you. If you would like to physically participate in our time of communion, please bring a small piece of fruit and a bit of juice or water to the circle.

This session hosted by Candice Combs

Candice Combs is the pastor of New Life Lutheran in Dripping Springs, TX, an ELCA wild church. This community is like an ecotone between the traditional church and the wild church. We meet every week with our sacred oaks, and practice “free range children” in worship. Pr. Candice is also a trained Creation Care coach.
