Join us for a book discussion led by author and Wild Church Leader, Daniel Cooperrider. Speak with the Earth and It Will Teach You - 2023 Gold Winner of the Nautilus Book Award for Religion & Spirituality!
Speak with the Earth and It Will Teach You attends to the theological wonder of God's first book: nature. Examining creation through the lens of history, biblical story, philosophy, and a bit of hiking, author Daniel Cooperrider shares the renewing wisdom that comes when we study the earth and all its forms.
Daniel Cooperrider is a writer, teacher, and pastor in the United Church of Christ (UCC) and Co-Pastor of Flicker Wild Church, a pop-up outdoor gathering. Daniel is a graduate of the University of Chicago and the University of Chicago Divinity School, and writes at the intersections of theology, environmental ethics, poetry, aesthetics, and climate justice. He's a fly-fisher and forager, and can often be found hiking, canoeing, wading, or otherwise navigating the landscape. Daniel lives on the edge of the driftless region in Madison, WI on ancestral Ho-Chunk land, and in Spooner, WI on Ojibwe land, with his spouse, the Rev. Dr. Julia Burkey, and their young wild ones, Reverie Faye & Kindred Praise.
